There is a few ways to understand what is said there. Two that I think may be the case:
1)There is lots of dragons, with 6 distinct types recognized so far, with 2 dragons they can interact with
2) There is lots of dragon, each completely different than one another. So 6 types known means 6 dragons known, which each would be a type of his own, with 2 of them that they can interact with.
