part of what got to you about him was the juxtaposition between his friendly, frail, slightly uncanny demeanor & the things he says/does
he wasn't an evil egotistical dude, he was an alien intelligence genuinely trying to manipulate people into feeling more comfortable, and it was creepy to experience
