Yeah I am playing P5X and the writers separate the story from the gacha. The gacha characters either show up as social links (side quests) in the story or get events to shill them. The main story is all about the core cast and as a result the narrative is much more cohesive and natural while the characters are written well. HSR and Hoyo way of shilling is just plain dumb.
