It really did. We had binary and non-binary trans people all over, reasonably happy, getting better places in society, and then cis women on tumblr desperate for a reason to call their skinny white female body oppressed got a sniff of us.
It was all over from there as their unstoppable pussy privilege remade our entire movement from being a fight for medical access to bodily autonomy and the right to be accepted as ourselves into being a social sledgehammer for them to beat well meaning people in the face with for the slightest perceived slip up in following their insane mental gymnastics of why they identify as a field of wheat.
Almost overnight we stopped being able to identify ourselves as we were, men or women or some mix of both or neither, to being only our AGAB to support their pussy privilege and a complete and utter joke of a demographic because we're now outnumbered by these people that hate humanity and want to tear it down rather than have the right to integrate themselves into the world fairly.
The average image of a "trans" person is no longer someone trans to the average person. It's a bizarre and dangerous cis woman with a rainbow dash mullet screaming at you to fall in line. It's a clownish cis man demanding to have your middle school daughter hold it while he pees. Both not only refuse to seek medical transition, but actively work against the ability to ever transition medically because they've relabeled our healthcare as somehow hateful against "us", because it's invalidating to them and questions whether they really should be in our spaces or represent us. To be honest, I've always wondered why my dick looked weird. I also had a fucked up circumcision which makes the skin on the shaft very tight, so I figured the head looked almost bifurcated because they like, accidentally cut it or something when I was a baby, or maybe that I ripped it masturbating when I was a kid and didn't notice. This actually makes a lot of sense. I have always had kinda weird hips, even before HRT, and estrogen seemed to work really well on me, so I wouldn't at all be surprised if I did have some kind of intersex condition.
