>why do zoomers not make eye contact
Good question, op!
Zoomers consider it polite not to stare at people. If 2 people are walking down the street towards each other it's common zoomer etiquette to stare off to one side, you don't just fucking stare at the person as they walk up to you.
What do you want me to do, look you in the eyes and then just keep looking at you? Am I supposed to wave hello and then go back to walking normally and still looking at you? Honestly I hate walking anywhere because of this. All of you should stay inside when I have things to do.
No zoomer likes standing in line and knowing that everyone is staring at them, so they try not to stare at other people. Its just basic 'treat others the way you want to be treated' which to us means 'fuck off I don't know you.'
A big part of it is just not wanting to be misinterpreted as a creep. So especially if there are kids or something I'm definitely turning my head in the other direction. Last thing you need is someone getting an out of context clip of you zoning out and staring at people.
So its because zoomers are extremely polite and that politeness comes from being scared shitless of society turning on you suddenly.
Most zoomers have clued in that "Hi how are you?" means "don't you dare tell me about your shit" and "have a good day" means "go away this is done now"
They didn't ask for things to be so fake and gay, they just noticed it is this way and it causes them to not engage.
