>Lee wanted the movie to have no villain other than the U.S. military, but the studio demanded a physical opponent for the Hulk. Based on previous drafts, Lee initially considered turning corrupt military officer Glenn Talbot into the Abomination, before ultimately deciding to make Bruce’s abusive father David Banner into the Absorbing Man.
>Tom Cruise was approached for Bruce Banner, but declined. Johnny Depp, Edward Norton, Billy Crudup, David Duchovny and Jeff Goldblum tested before Eric Bana was cast.
