What is the master plan by Israel here?
The Gaza genocide has isolated them and tied up a lot of resources (about 60-70% of IDFs manpower).
They just lost in Lebanon, and now they are going for a direct confrontation with Iran?
...at a time when their air force has dropped over 100K tons of bombs in Gaza at a time when the US stocks are dwindling.
I think they are banking on Iran to do a measured response lasting a short time since a prolonged response will be unmanageable logistically.
Another problem is that Iran comes out on top here diplomatically, while also now having the established trade to sustain a longer operation.
The only thing playing to their favor is that Iran simply can't roll over Iraq and Jordan to get to Israel, so they are protected from a land attack... And Israels nukes are enough to match the conventional strikes they already did in Gaza, perhaps a couple of times over.
So they could probably flatten one Iranian city with their nukes.
