I only just realised that the JP release of the very first Sonic game coincides with the Idolm@ster's anniversary, July 26th.

Also I was not aware that Sonic 1 was released in JP like a month after it was released in the US, and in fact the earliest release that I know of is in the UK which preceded both the US and JP.
