They didn't commit all their forces, only a fraction, that's why, they pussied out, and so did the Anglos - they were supposed to do a naval blockade and start bombing Germ military/industry. Germany would lose against fully commited Poland + France + England already in 1939. But France didn't fully commit, and England dropped leaflets over Germany, while Poland was only 50% mobilized because of England...
