His judgement was right, Sméagol was evil and dived into lava trying to secure evil power for himself. Frodo should have killed Sméagol and then had the moral strength to resist the ring in the end. That is a pagan moral story. Instead it’s a pozzed christcuck moral parable where humans are “flawed and shameful” and can’t be trusted to do right on their own, and you should always forgive evil and not punish it in any way
