Feather works like the rest of the stats, and all the weapons has hidden feather scaling for funzies.
Magic has the additional feature where it increases debuff scaling, on top of scaling damage.

Just be honest and say its a cheese simulator, and that most of the bosses are designed around that.
Its a fun game, until the illusion breaks. Either when you figure out how spells work, when you can start using the weapon swap mechanic for insane combos, or when you figure out fire damage is cumulative and self stacking on the debuff.
