>weak beer and/or mixed their wine with water
I've heard that but still they drank it in quite large quantities no? But maybe the dilution does do so much. I wonder how socialization would go nowadays if it were common to drink lower alcohol content beverages while out in the cities at night. Like if 2 % beer were common? Would we be getting all the benefits without the downsides?
From what I've found online, Roman wine seems to place at somewhere in the 2 - 6 % alcohol (depending on dilution), the upper end still seems a bit too much for a daily drink to me but maybe they were just built different lol.
>Imo the best bread
I'm Czech so I guess it might have been of the type you mention but I'm really not sure.
Sadly I've not encountered first hand any kind of bread-baking tradition where I live, even my grandma used to buy bread from the store I think? She made amazing brownies though.

you can literally eat vegetables raw and they taste good
meat I have cooked without seasoning but with some butter on the pan, so I can't say for sure if it'd be good absolutely without anything, but I have noticed that it has a very strong taste of its own that I don't think is coming from the surface butter
also egg yolks are tasty as fuck even without any seasoning (whites not so much lol)
