Summary of chapter:
-Merchant was born to a prostitute who immediately abandoned him and he was mercilessly bullied as an orphan, called a rat and born too deformed to exercise so he couldn't even fight back
-He eventually realized that making money was the only way he could survive, and he made his riches in any way he could without caring about how it was made, and at whose expense.
-After gaining power, Merchant met Desmos, and abruptly called her "beautiful" which startled Desmos. In merchant's eyes Desmos is the "perfect being", the complete opposite of himself, and from that point forward he saw Desmos as his reason to live on.
-(this part is a bit confusing so I'm not sure I have it 100% correct) It turns out that Alice had just faked being a noble and in truth doesn't even have a last name. She's just a lowly commoner with a Napoleon complex, whose only talent apart from her skill is a delusional belief in herself as the best.
-Zulu is surprised at the reveal and questions why Alice has such a giant ego despite being a nobody without exceptional athleticism or smarts.
-Alice's skill was apparently that strong because she trained it 10 hours every day to improve herself, which is why it was easy for MC to push her once she let go of her ego and acknowledged her weaknesses.
-Mikagami goes on a long tirade giving a bunch of praise to Alice's determination, and says he'd never want to fight Alice again.
-In the last moments of the fight, the goblin man recognizes something in Alice, and calls her beautiful.
-This angers Desmos who calls him out for praising another woman in front of her
-Desmos storms out, not interested in discussing their bet further,, and her secretary says that there might still be a chance for the Merchant as Desmos isn't quite as furious as she'd usually be.
