Because she defended Gato the guy who was her ex and has made multiple attempts to destroy the GP01(her lifes work) and also kill Kou who she was currently dating. She had all the reason to just let him get put down but nope she threatens Kou to not do it.

Then by defending him he goes out and slaughters a bunch of Feddies and has other Zeons commit to a kamikaze run costing tons of others their lives. She is a bad person because her fucked up priorities led her to disrespect not just a semi-decent mans judgement but also herself and the organization she stands for WHILE contributing to the senseless deaths of others.

How can you ever hope to trust anyone who does something like that again?
