Yeah, I also hate Buttman. They were actually my favorite SP ship before Going Native, and I actually disliked Bunny because I thought they were only shipped for looking good together. But after I fell in love with Bunny it was impossible to not compare their dynamics, and I realized how wanting Butters' kindness and submissiveness to "heal" Cartman into a nice boyfriend was a mindset that had made me miserable in my own relationships. The Heiman subplot in season 21 did a really good job of illustrating that in a humorous way, I think.
But yeah, I still love their friendship in the show, since it's a comedy it's easy to not take seriously. Cartman and Butters are 2 halves of a whole idiot!
