They are intranets the equivalent of having only your famly and friends know your phone number. They are several, specially in companies where only wokers can get a hold of the credentials and addresses to use them, then there is the dark web where they distribute more randomly but still needs special tools to be used, Just the way tor woks.
It used to bother me because how much the internet is being censored. For example ISPs, domain hosts, and payment processors hold so much power over what we can talk with other people over the internet, nothing compared to dumb politicians in power, nothing compared to people that put those in power by sheer stupidity. Those lasts are the ones that worry me the most.
Anyway, then I understood that people don't care so I will end up surrounded by outcasts like I used to when this site was controversial and less known, eventually me and others will move into IPFS, freenet or reticulum network, etc. whatever is more convenient. They all kinda work like intranets, and it create segregation. Unlucky, but social media has outlived their utility and too many retards are calling for more control over them.
I have been thinking about it, and intranets and the protocols I mentioned are the last places where we could avoid what n korea has, but they are all quite technical, and pretty much put you on a list (did you know subscribing to a linux magazine puts you on a list too?) but that is not that bad is it?
What really drives me mad is how dependent Phase is from google to keep streaming. for example restricted mode in youtube culls Shiina's vods and pretty much makes her streams non existent. What is to say that Youtube doesn't censor phase out of viability or makes them lose the drive to stream?
I never planned to fall in love with the rabbit, makes me sad that i can potentially stop hearing from her some random day Now, that, that is my worst case scenario
