I can never agree with this "annoy the player into playing the "correct" way" design philosophy
It's like games in which you can save anywhere but it takes 7 hours and 10 menus and going back to the title screen (which takes 20 seconds to load) just to be able reload a save file, simply because they don't want people to savescum so they make it as tedious as possible
Who gives a shit? If a player deliberately wants to play the "wrong" way, or cheat and ruin the experience for themselves, they should be allowed to do so
