The way I see it, Reed already knows songbird was going to try something, he knows she trusts you so ideally he'd grab her once she makes a move and that's exactly was he was going to do but then Myers intervened and things went to shit again. I didn't like the way in ended at all, like I said DLC really falls off narratively speaking after you are made to pick sides.
