You laughed, but her sudden closeness made your pulse quicken. She poked your chest with her fingertip, teasing. “You don’t get to just sit there quietly, though. I expect applause, compliments… maybe even snacks.”

When you reached for the bag of chips on the desk, she caught your wrist, giggling. “Ah-ah, not so fast. Payment first.”

Her playful smirk softened into something sweeter as she tugged you closer. The neon glow from her screen traced the curve of her smile as she whispered, “A kiss will do.”
