Because I mean, really, at the end of the day, what you're looking at would be a 2d frame of a polyhedral brake-space in relation to the car's motive ability. This would be without respect to wet-braking, of course. With conformal mapping to a polynomial you would be able to determine the best braking structure simply by making an analysis of the polynomial's mapping vs. expansion across 2d planes.
