Don’t get me wrong, the epic battle cutscenes at the end of quests are still of high quality and probably have improved a little in animation from a few years ago. But it’s genuinely sad to see those small moments of fuller animation that gave the stories life being phased out for 1 or 2 “special” character animations in the standard cutscenes. (It seriously pisses me off when they just modify a characters idle animation for an important action in the story) With a game that has grown so big since its release, there’s no excuse for such a drop in quality, and it’s terribly ironic that genshin 2020 looks better than 5 years later.
