>maybe they'll even dethrone the ultramarines in that regard.
in popularity maybe. i mean, they're a successor chapter that gets their own codex and minis, that's quite the big achievement, but they won't be put in a big starter set anytime soon. one of the biggest mistakes gw ever made was to put chapter specific models in a starter set (dark angels in 7th) and that reduced their potential customer base so much they never did that again and probably won't try for the forseeable future. weird that deathwatch is so popular. i liked them better when they were just a squad you could include in your other imperial armies, but i guess that's also been quite a while ago. ^^'
>also just a random question but were the ultramarines always the "default" chapter/legion?
not always, but they've hold that spot most of the time. in rogue trader it was the crimson fists, then ultramarines for 2nd (codex space marines was actually called codec ultramarines in 2nd ^^), in 3rd it was crimson fists on the codex cover and black templars in the starter set and then it's been ultramarines until 7th, i believe, when they tried their luck with the dark angels and failed miserably with that, so they went back to ultras after that. and why not? they're inoffensive and cool enough.
>a lot of red tho but as it's chaos im sure i can get away with doing it a lil bit crudely.
red isn't that bad once you get the hang of it. and yes. chaos is a bit more forgiving in that regard.
>the blue breaks up all the red nicely in my opinion, and I have a lot of blue paint
guess that's settled, then. blue it is. :>
>not fun for a music lover like me.
i can imagine. seems to be an epidemic among younger people. my brother lost hearing in one ear as well. :/
