There's nothing immature about the writing but it's very melodramatic in the most literal sense. You have dramatic moments of dialogue that would feel genuine if not for music cues kicking in right after a line to give additional weight to the scene and it all starts to feel silly at times, like you're watching an exaggerated stage play. I'm not sure if it was something they went for it intentionally as a stylistic choice, or if they simply tried too hard to put some feelings into their work.
