I've often felt like this may be a valid argument in favor of religion, it gives us a chance to regain this sense of wonder by way of a metaphysical world that we can never prove exists yet may someday experience for ourselves. I sometimes think this may even be one of the reasons why religion exists in the first place

I believe that there is more good in this world than bad. Even if some people are shitheads, they're the only shitheads we got and God willing, I'm still glad we all get to share this world for good and bad because whatever happens, even the ones at the very top can't escape from themselves. I also think there is a comfort in the idea that we're all just transient custodians of this world and our lives, the universe is too great for us to be a permanent fixture, and the sands of time wipe all our problems clean. If there is a God out there, then God is good, but even if there isn't, I'm still happy I get to experience this crazy life at all.
