Actual letters would be a good compromise if her friends still felt uncomfortable seeing her. I believe that kind of connection is really important, she can't just have me, no matter how much she begs, so even if coming to see her with her completely clothed and trying her best not to act how she does every other day isn't enough of a compromise, at least that's a option.
