It got delayed due to covid. It was swt to start in march 2020, but got delayed a couple times due to covid. Then it got delayed due to the war each time. He got elected at the end of 2022, and needed at least a year minimum to resteucture rhe judiciary which is left wing. To cede power to his branch, and so he kept doing everything possible to delay it. Since he knew he'd be fucked otherwise. So once elected, he kept causing problems that caused the trial to get delayed. Then je let 10/7 happen, hoping for an all out Itan war, which didn't happen. So anytime it was set to have him testify and continue, he always made sure rhere was major attacks to delay it more. He kept the war going also, since he knew once it ended, the people hated him. Israel was on the vwrge of a civil war right before 10/7. And if he ended the war earlier (it's still not over, just delayed), he would have been voted out in a snap election, since his approval was garbage (it's gone up since then tho)

So his plan is always just to keep buying time. To try to change the judiciary power structure, and to not get voted out of office, and to do attacks whenever there's a court date to delay it more. This has been the pattern since the beginning of the beginning of the war (well, prior, but I started following it in 10/2023)
