Bit of a newfag here (just started posting months ago), I feel like in times when the industry is fucked we need images like these for tards that consume slop.

I feel like more and more people need to realize that in order for a second animation renaissance to happen, we need to find appreciation for the classics, the primary issue with fakime is how they all replicate the superficial aspects of anime, and the fact that they’re utterly pointless, why watch fakime when you can just watch anime? The reality is that poorly apeing the cartoons of another culture is gonna get us nowhere as an industry, it shows that western animation doesn’t have a cultural identity and instead just copies others poorly. When many other countries think of western animation, they think of the timeless classics like Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, and you can even see influence from those cartoons in anime series like One Piece. We need cartoons that just need to be silly and funny that are marketed well in order to truly gain mass appeal towards others, look at Smiling Friends for example, that shows arguably the most popular cartoon of the decade cause it doesn’t try to be weebshit, it just tries to be funny and wacky, and many people like it for that, also helping is the fact that it’s one of the few cartoonist driven shows these days.

My advice for the industry is to stop taking influence from anime and take influence from golden age, classic, and 90’s cartoons instead. Executives making all shows look like cheap garbage is also a whole other can of worms in itself that’s fucking up the industry.
