It's the same here. Grew up in the GTA. It can't even be put in to words just how soul crushing this country has become. I moved to a small town up North and it's sort of helped me find a tolerable middle ground. Though the moment I'dm no longer anchored by familial obligations I'm looking to to moving to the US. This country is a trap and anyone who can should escape asap.

The entire country is a fucking retirement home. Something like 45% of the population are over 65 and they all do what the TV tells them.

Not that they even needed the TV to tell them. All they know is as long as 500k immigrants come per year, their property value increases by 1% and that's all boomers care for. They want to be buried with the whole bag like an ancient Egyptian pharoh or some shit. The entire concept of generational wealth died with the boomer generation. They all sold the family home they inherited. They all sold the first and second home they bought since and live in their third home for their retirement. They got all they toys they wanted and/or gambled away all their fortunes. No generation after them will know what it's like to inherit some invaluable like a family home. Boomers took it all and sold it. Number can only ever go up.
