My Theory is that Asgore is going to crash out at the Festival and rush the stage mid-speech from Carol, going on about how he finally knows how to find her, and right in front of everyone, stab the earth with his shadowcrystal and create a Dark Fountain.

So my theory is what's going to happen in Chapter 5 or 6. Is that at the festival, Asgore is going to rush the main stage during the mayor's speech, say he knows how to find "Her" (Dess, remember he was let go from the police after the search for her turned up nothing), and with the shadow crystal shard we saw he has in Chapter 4, stab the Earth and open a Dark Fountain, making a Dark World right there in the Festival.
