I think India is like zombies -- they are both the victim and the vicitmizer that spread the dysfunction that made them so dysfunctional. Charity begins at home and we must protect our own first, from them. I understand why they want on our lifeboat but we can't let them ruin us. The way we are letting Indians flood the rest of the world now is ruining us and it actually isn't helping India. India's population is out of control due to food aid and vaccine with no birth control, the only limit was actual physical space so for every Indian taken out of India is space for India to make more Indians to overcrowd the earth!
We can and should help India with family planning, free birth control. The only other help we should give them is environmental, help them be less polluting, plan more trees and grasses for their cows -- this would be good for the entire world and a greener environment would help Indians be less dysfunctional.
I love eating beef, I don't worship cows but I'm pro cow welfare. I feel like we made a deal with cows when we domesticated them that in exchange for protecting them from being torn to pieces alive by packs of wolves, we get milk and meat -- humanely slaughter. We have a lot of customs on how to humanely slaughter livestock long before Peta, and in the modern age we stunt them first. The street cows in India always look so miserable it upsets me. Cows are extremely NPC, they don't have awareness and curiousity in their eyes like dogs, cats, or even rats, but cows can feel pain and stress, and there is no need for them to suffer as they do in Indian cities. Cows are wonderful for the milk, meat, and leather they provided humanity for so little -- to be left grazing on grasslands that are often no good for farming.
