Yes, it is very effective at restoring balance before diseases reach their mature form and for weird shit that western medicine can't fix like depression.
But here's the thing. There are a lot of TCM doctors in the west that are either incompetent or fraudulent. I lived by a large chinese diaspora community so I had access to legitimate ones.. I was a skeptic at first but after they fixed some issues I began to trust them more than western doctors.
Rule of thumb is if a TCM doctor can't do a pulse diagnosis they are grifters. This method means they are both gifted and have been through years of rigorous schooling.
If they can do a pulse diagnosis and based off it it start telling you shit they shouldn't know about your health, you have to do exactly what they say, which usually includes a restrictive diet, cutting out specific vices as well as herbs and needles.
