A lot of websites prune inactive accounts, Twitter is technically 30 days, TikTok is 180 days like Tenhou, Google & Microsoft are 2 years. You don't notice because you don't use them, if you played on Tenhou this wouldn't be an issue.

Deleting them and freeing the names, you can make a new account with the same name but you start from zero.
If you're a houou player and paid for a subscription at least once in the past decade you will be able to get your account back.
