It wasn't the twin gimmick that died off imo, it was the strict adherence to playing 1 dimensional characters with some obnoxious characteristics and performative fakery that sunk their popularity. People got bored and/or annoyed.
They could've easily been the face of EN since Gura left if they just found that balance of genuineness so viewers could bond with on a more personal level, and acting. Less Luna, more Pekora.
