I concede I am just an observer to the specific instance you're describing. My people, too, descend from the the so-called martial societies; for all the baggage and inaccuracy of this term everyone born from blood of a people who thrived through strength knows the same essential truths about their progeny.
The issue is, I would argue, not cultural or even genetic. Warriors have a purpose in a unified world. They bear more responsibility there than a world full of conflict.
The issue stems from the same lies about the fundamental origins of humans and human ambition. The hypothesis that man is warlike, that without the risk of death he will revert to his carnal nature. This is not true, and just below the topsoil and the waves this truth is being whispered by our ancestors.
