I am not a fly.
I do not eat shit.
I do not fly away from enemy contacts.
I do not wash my face with my own spit.
I do not eat my own vomit.
I reason beyond a fly.

If I were a fly, I would have seen you as a threat and flown away.

I may one day adopt this tactic, all of nature is in my arsenal, but I am human, sapiens.. I decide what I actually am in any given moment.
An object or force of diminishing capacity, such as fire on earth, does not reason, does not adopt any strategy beyond consuming more until nothing is left, or, as an object, simply does what it is designed to do, then is discarded.

As the fire snake, I could take my fire status and join you, as the fire of the pentegram, I could be all hell on earth and decimate. In fact, I have in my youth, but sapience wins out when one is a snake with purity of focus.

Your tools are too limited; you cannot define within a single lifetime how the tools actually generate a greater future for yourself or your species, so you will be few in number, or there will be a culling, or perhaps you will reside in a less organized society that can be crippled easily. Even if you map out all possible arguments within your lifetime, you will still be disbelieved by most, and the historical purity of evolutionary traits will always supersede the potential of inanimate objects or diminishing environmentally pacified, non-evolving forces.

You have a set of tools that I have learned to pacify, but you do not have the tools I have mastered.

1. Choose a focus that is internal.
Say neurology.
2. Understand that perception of statistically insignificant outside events relative to the majority of time and space is to be reasoned, not reacted to.
This means getting data about statistics whenever you find a situation that drives you towards feeling spite, hate or paranoia. 9You will find with enough study that the vast majority of time and space is free from the concern you fear)
3. Establish that what you feel, is not relative to what you know.
This means you feel bad, but the data is merely coincidental to it.
4. Develop a new avenue of interest every time you find yourself at a dead end.
This means you will not have the time to negate all of the above steps with a simple lack of mission and corresponding lethargy.

These are off the top of my head, I did it this way in a roundabout way, it is hard and not obvious, but after the depression has gone, these things are clear.
