My man that is a very eloquent phrasing of something I feel very deeply. I like a lot of the elements of traditional menswear, but not so much the context and associations.
Like you said, I'm not trying to fit in with some country club or corporate scene. I'm not looking to do "old money" or "tumblr rizz" or whatever specific style I've seen online. I'm just a dude who likes what they like.
Frankly, I think it's far more interesting to experiment with what you wear, even if it's not perfect, than to default to something safe but inexpressive.
