Objectively animals being of less than human intelligence and dependent on us for survival or continued luxury make them property. Devoid of ethics you may do with your property as you please. Beyond that it’s up to you to reason out what is right or wrong to do with them. Are they cut from a similar enough cloth that their actions may be seen as consent? Are they not anywhere near us and given their dependence on us does that impose a duty of care on an owner to provide but not take advantage?
