I can't share everything for very, very small chance that I could make it happen, but basically there's another mastermind called the "Ultimate Criminal" who want to copy Junko's "killing game" for their own ends during the time they infiltrated Hope's Peak and know about Junko's plot. They are more crafty, analytical and ambitious than Junko because they spent their whole life escaping prisons and evading capture hundred times along with working behind world's conspiracy, but unlike Junko their goal is entirely driven by greed: they want immortality and become the world's Supreme Leader. That's why the killing game will involves clones and soul, along with the theme "perpetual killing game", though hope and despair will also play pivotal role, and they happen separately somewhere and barely related to Hope's Peak beyond some students kidnapped for it, with the help of certain Hope's Peak upper staff and co-conspirator.
As for the protags, you can play as either Shuichi or Kaede in different routes. The game will be centered around the crossing themes between truth, hope, lies and despair. Shuichi will focus on finding the truth which might compromise hope, while Kaede focus on bringing hope even if it might compromise truth. They will have to clash with the opposition slowly brainwashed by the "mastermind" to grow more single-minded in their belief while the protag trying to find balance and convince them back to their senses. The bad routes instead end up both of them doubling down on their belief and have to kill each other. Shuichi would end up letting everyone else die to find the truth and the criminal, becoming the "Ultimate Punisher" while Kaede would end up trying to brainwash everyone even if she has to continue the perpetual killing game by becoming the "Ultimate Dictator"
