It seems to help me have a good mood for a bit after I run. Same goes for a good hot yoga sesh. It's not just a bit of a mood boost but it really makes me quite unbothered about small things in a way that I guess antidepressants or psychedelics (the days after taking them) also achieve. Even if that doesn't last forever it can probably help you. The sense that you are progressing and doing something good for yourself and taking your mind off whatever it is that's fucked is all good.

It can also help establish some routine I guess. Just do it, try to track performance in some way so you can see the progress. Can be as simple as noticing that you can now run for 10 minutes without stopping or something. You have nothing to lose but your fat (and if you are too skinny you can eat mcnuggets after).
