They engage in trade with other races, generally peaceful. They have had border skirmishes with others, usually nothing too serious. However there are evil races they fend off frequently, and they've sometimes allied with their neighbours against dark forces.
They export:
>Silk
>Tea
>Purple dye
>Gold (many gold mines)
>Mercenaries
They import:
>Leather (leather good for rugged work is hard to find in their land, the most common animal for leather tans into very soft and porous leather that is only really good for clothing and not bags, straps, belts, etc.)
>Wool (sheep don't grow well in their land, and ramie clothes are generally stiff and less comfortable than wool)
>Opium (many lungmarians suffer insomnia. Their bodies can resist the harmful side effects of opium and they use it as a sleeping aid. However they can still get addicted.)
>Cannons and Guns (others forge big stuff better), also send their own to study other's forging techniques in exchange for trade goods
>Silver (very few silver mines in their home)

Ah that makes sense. Yeah a lot of things that happen today are grandfathered in and are not always straightforward. Like the Danish way of saying 90-99 is absolutely not logical at all, it's an abbreviated form of (5-0.5)*20 + (1 or 9 depending on the number).
I'll have to read that full pic later, it looks dense and meaty.
I have a bit more on the military and society of the lungmarians. Some of the stuff I have to get around to working on.
