I saw speculation that GW pushed for Arbites in DT and Rogue Trader and gave both teams the designs and docs so they only had to implement them — that would explain the synchronicity of both releases.
I also didn’t expect this class. It was fun to play but nothing that really pulled me back in with its fantasy.
I know it’s rather off-limits, but I’d really like a Commissar class with conscript bots — only pistol-ranged-options and relying on the minions for ranged combat. They already have the tech for it with the Necromancer in VT2. A Commissar would make perfect sense to send along, just like the Arbites, to keep an eye on the rejects.
And if they’re really cool, they’d reintroduce dual-wielding ranged + melee — which is a long-term staple of 40K. You always see dudes running around with a bolt pistol and a chainsword — literally everywhere — everyone’s got a pistol in one hand and a sword in the other. So it’s really eyebrow-raising that it’s still missing in DT.
