I don't like new Red. Recent games lean into his reputation as a silent badass, but Red has never been intimidating ever since his black hair was replaced with that brown hair. In SM he looks worse, like some tryhard twenty something on vacation even if that's the point. Ethan got sanded down even more than Red for HGSS partly because of Sugimori's changing art style, and ORAS Brendan is literally brown now.

ORAS May is still a May so she's cute, but the massive outfit downgrade and near retconning of RSE May is painful. RSE May was the perfect balance of girly and sporty, even the Teraleak supports this was part of her concept. I don't like how ORAS May is more blonde than brunette either.
