though you are right, at your racial core you are european. traditional europeans would not have left their homelands out of love for their "Heimat" however. orignal germans would not want to leave their familiar environment & culture to live amongst poles, french, slavs, italians in a migrant colony. those germans who stayed behind are the more conservative type & less volatile in mentality as those who had the heart to violently tear out their roots like that. though of course the fresh wind of adventure, the thrill of uncertainty but the freedom to shape a life from scratch is what is so appealing about the big pilgrimage you took on.
