I bet that in the language of the ancient kingdom, the same word can mean both 'God' and 'Treasure' depending on context.

Side note, I was looking for this page and realized something. Rayleigh was always full of shit. 'Roger could simply hear the will of all things, he never deciphered the ancient script' yeah, but the whole reason Robin brought this up is because she found 'Roger Wuz Here' carved into the side of the Skypeia Poneglyph, meaning SOMEONE present actually knew how to both write the language and also carve new messages into the supposedly indestructible poneglyphs. Oda might not have come up with Oden specifically but he 100% intended for Rayleigh to be lying through omission here.
