A decent 4 door sedan still costs about one year of median wages, its been that way for 100 years. A new toyota camry costs $30,000 and so does a honda accord. One year of median wages is $34,000. In 1957 the median wage in the US was $3000 and a 57 chevy bel air started at $2000. The statistics are lies, all the cleetuses financing $80,000 luxury pickup trucks just skew the average. Even gas costs the same, a gallon of gas in 1957 was 1 silver quarter or about $2.50 today. Subcompacts are even cheaper than that. Id say rent is the problem here not cars, as well as the fact that Americans are entitled niggers who want to live an upper middle class lifestyle on a working class budget.
