I don't think it's something unique to hohols. The mentality of a bitter small nation with delusions of grandeur is fairly common, it's just that the wect for the first time in a really long period doesn't have the undisputed lead in errrything, and it scares them shitless. And then you add capeshit brainwashing on top, when you kill that one big bad/destroy that one thing and the enemy collapses.
