It will never be the Golden 60s ever again. In the last decade the best Japan's had is Takayama, a mini flyweight. Ippo himself is a featherweight, as is Sendo. There's no hope for Japan in boxing. Hajime no Ippo didn't inspire the next Takeshi Fuji or Koichi Wajima.
