Looking at more of the charts now. Some of this is fascinating and and I want to comb through the raw data sometime. This chart is more up to date, though personally I think yearly stats are more solid for long term trends than quarterly reports--quarterly data is more for investors than for fans. They also switched from top 4000 to top 6000 vtubers for their data and I'm not sure why.

Trouble with categorizing a few edge cases is not a reason to give up on the entire concept of categorizing things.
