M.2 to U.2 adapters are pretty delicate
Just make sure your not putting too much physical strain on any of the connectors
Also PCie 4/5 drives can be problematic depending on the quality of the cables.
You can only trust pcie 4.0 signals over short cables or with a redriver
Best thing is a AIC if you can spare the slots.
For PCIe 3.0 drives, look into PLX cards and you can run mutiple drives with one slot.
There is also the LSI 9500 for pcie 4.0 drives.
