finally caught up with 1999
gonna be honest, I really dislike Quincy.
The thing about being an asshole character is that you still have to be endearing. Either they get shit done, or they’re funny enough that you forgive it. Tony Stark is the obvious example as he’s a jerk, he makes dumb jokes, but the audience laughs because the movie lets other characters call him out and react to him. That’s the missing piece here. Quincy just mouths off, the player can’t push back, and everyone else in-game keeps talking him up like he’s actually cool. I’ve seen people argue “you just need to get to know him, he’s sweet underneath.” That makes it worse. If he’s hiding his “real” self, then he’s a coward. If he’s fine being an asshole to others but can’t take it himself, then he’s a hypocrite. Neither is charming.
And then there’s the Marvel-lite dialogue. He doesn’t sound suave or clever, he sounds like an immature kid shitposting in text chat. heres an example I snagged from Kimulacrum, didn’t even have to dig for it
